Jacine’s wedding dress is truly a one of a kind dress. Made with 100% silk chiffon, a polyester lining, underling, and detailed with lace, beads, sequins, rhinestones, and pearls. I started this dress by drafting out a pattern that pleated down the bust sides and into the middle of the dress all the way down to the hips. The pleats were inverted after the waist line and down past the hips to give a slight draped effect. Once the draft was completed I wanted to make sure I had achieved the proper drape I did this by sewing a full mock up on a cheeper poly. chiffon and took notes of any adjustments. The silk version was then cut out and created. The pleating corresponded directly to the actual size of Jacine to truly get a perfect fit. There are several layers of beads and lace appliqués down the middle of the dress, up around the neck, and sleeves. The sleeves were especially unique in that the lining is fully covered in lace and the top chiffon layer (slightly gathered at the top seam so the lace peaks out underneath) is scattered with two different beaded appliqué sewed together to create one design. The train is also scattered with lace with an over bustle. I used pearl buttons and a zipper for the closer of the dress, and lace to trim it out.
